Hej!

Ovih dana sam pohodila dućane, i kupila sam nekoliko stvari. Kad god uđem u Kozmove poslovnice, bez iznimke me dočekuju neljubazne i neinformirane prodavačice. No, dobro.

Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, PEG-120 Mathyl Glucose Dioleate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polysorbate 20, Parfum, Cocamide Mea, Sodium Chloride, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Sucrose Cocoate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Caramel, Butylene Glycol, Tetrasodium Edta, Coumarin,Limonene, Royal Jelly Extract.

Tekstura: Za 20ak kuna dobivate 250 ml proizvoda medene teksture.

🙂 Do čitanja!

Hello guys!

So for the couple of previous days I’ve been visiting many online and real-life shops in search of some goodies for myself. Today I’ll write something about a small part of my cosmetic shopping spree the other day. For croatian readers I explained my reasons for the decision to boycott shopping at a particular chain of stores in Croatia, and to sum up – this is due to their employees who are, in my opinion, very unprofessional, rude and undeserving of their working position – which implies being pleasent and informative towards their potential customers. Unfortunately – it has become obvious that the attitudes of such employees (in this particular chain of stores) is tacitly approved by their store managers – so I just decided to take my business elsewhere and shop where I feel comfortable. One good thing about capitalism is that there is a market – and with it there are competitor stores who will gladly accommodate my wish to look around the store and shop in peace.  Oh well.  Among other things, I bought Catrice gel eyeliner in black and Catrice After work wine lipstick – which I’m thrilled about!

But today I’ll talk about  Bourjois Gelee Royale, shower gel with Royal jelly extract.

Ingrediants: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, PEG-120 Mathyl Glucose Dioleate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polysorbate 20, Parfum, Cocamide Mea, Sodium Chloride, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Sucrose Cocoate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Caramel, Butylene Glycol, Tetrasodium Edta, Coumarin,Limonene, Royal Jelly Extract.

This shower gel comes in a really nice golden brown packaging and it doesn’t contain paraben – ingredient often associated with skin irritations and in some cases supposedly related to cancer. The only contenious ingrediant here is Cocamide Mea – used to produce foaming effect in shampoos / shower gels – for its potentially irritating property. Other ingrediants are mostly synthetic, but safe.

Texture: For the price of  less then 3 euros (approx. 4 US dollars / 2 GBP) you get 250 ml of honey like product. It is of high viscosity and has beautiful golden brown colour – which is very remeniscent of  actual honey. Showering with this stuff is very suithing, although it did provoke certain itchiness and dryness of the skin. I wasn’t much surprised with that since my skin tends to be dehydrated, specially in the winter time. After applying my usual moisturizer, my skin felt great – it was unusually soft and subtle.

Scent: This smell is really nice and gentle! Right from the bottle it smelled like meadow honey, and the soapiness was in the background, breaking through the dense honey scent. But during my showering, I noticed that the smell was much lighter on my skin, more like powdery caramel.

Overall: I rate it 4/5 because it made my skin slightly dry.

In the next review, I will examine pros and cons on the above mentioned Catrice products so stay tuned! 🙂

Bok 🙂

Slijede recepti!

Hay 🙂

This is a page dedicated to my culinary ventures. It is a vegetarian cookbook and a (by)product of my own cooking experiments and interpretations. I eat fish and sea food as well, and i frequently use folic acid suplement which contains B12 vitamin.

My philosophy regarding food is simple: live healthy. For this reason I have to say that I don’t approve vegetarianism if, for any reason, you have some health issues (like some forms of blood cells or vitamin deficiencies that might worsen your condition). If you choose to follow this diet regime, I strongly advise regular workout (even in mild forms like walking for your cardiovascular system), regular blood work check – ups and taking some supplements like omega 3- fatty acid or folic acid complex which contains B12, as mentioned above. I can assure you that my meals are low – fat and based on plentiful of proteins, unsaturated fat, fiber and whole grains.

Vegetarian food is holistic, healthy, tasty and a good alternative to omnivore diet. I would be happy to answer your questions regarding vegetarian and animal – friendly cuisine!

Stay tuned for my recipes!

Pozdrav! 🙂

Sastav: voda, bademovo ulje, stearinska kiselina, ekstrakt svježe Dove orhideje, apsolut smilja, ulje ylang ylanga, trietanolamin, cetearilni alkohol, miris, metil i propil parabeni

Sve u svemu: Jako sam zadovoljna s ovim odstranjivačem nečistoće i make up-a, a bila sam veoma skeptična u vezi njega i gotovo ga nisam kupila! 9 to 5 će uvijek imati svoje mjesto u mojem kupaonskom ormariću.

Ocjena: 5/5

 Hello there! 🙂

“9 to 5” is a facial cleaner by Lush based on orchid oil. This product thrilled me because it’s very gentle, smells great and is not too oily even though it contains oils. Moreover, almond oil – frequently used as make up remover – along with orchid oil extract and water created this light and creamy mixture suitable for all skin types, including oily and sensitive skin.

It comes in two sizes – 95 and 240 grams and the price for the big bottle is around 14 euros (19 dollars / 12 pounds). For this amount of product, the price may seem a bit too high, but since the product is watery you don’t really need a lot of it when cleansing so I guess that’s acceptable.

Ingrediants: Water, Almond Oil, Stearic Acid, Fresh Dove Orchid Extract, Everlasting Flower Absolute, Ylang Ylang Oil, Triethanolamine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

As I mention before, not all ingrediants are natural. Some are chemically synthesised from organic ingrediants, but nevertheless not fully natural. Here you can see quite a bit of syntesised ingrediants, but I don’t mind it that much since I find that many organic brands offer products with these or similar ingrediants, but in higher concentration. Even though I personally don’t have any negative reactions to this cleanser, I feel it is important to point out that this product does contain alcohol and preservatives.

Texture: this is not your typical oil – based make up and dirt remover because it has a high dose of water in its composition. That is a big plus for all of you who want to avoid the feeling of heavy and greasy on your skin. Texture wise, this is very similar to a very light creamy lotion, so light that you can just wipe your face with a cotton pad and not wash it down afterwards. I feel like my skin is really rested, hydrated and clean – but without the feeling that I stripped it off its natural protective layer. Most importantly, it doesn’t cause any irritation, clogged pores or breakouts.

Scent: this really smells like orchid flower! It somewhat reminds me of milky orchid oil cream and even of those nice powdery sunscreens or baby lotions. The smell is a definite yes if you ask me. 🙂

Overall: even though I was a bit sceptical at first, I must say that I love this facial cleanser. There will always be place for it in my bathroom cabinet. I rate this 5/5.

Bok!

Prije nekih mjesec dana kupila sam u Lushu nekoliko sapuna i You snap the whip body butter.

Sastav: kakao maslac, ulje macadamia oraha, vulkanski plavučac u prahu, lauret 4, ugljen u prahu, ulje bergamota, apsolut crnog ribiza, ulje čempresa, apsolut cassie

Hey!

About a month ago, I purchased You snap the whip body butter, along with some soaps, by a brand called Lush. This wasn’t the first time I’ve used this body butter, and i usually re-purchase it periodically when I need some good moisturizing and exfoliating. In my country it costs around 9 euros (12 dollars / 8 pounds) and for that price you get 95 grams of product. Now, there are some more favorable products on the market, but I find this product to be excellent for the following reasons.

Ingrediants: Cocoa Butter, Organic Macadamia Nut Oil, Laureth 4, Powdered Charcoal, Pumice, Perfume, Bergamot Oil, Cassis Absolute, Cypress Oil, *Limonene, *Linalool

I was little taken by the comparison of the UK and croatian You snap the whip boddy butter, since some ingrediants, listed in the UK YSTW ingrediant section, aren’t listed in the croatian YSTW ingrediant section. Those ingrediants are perfume, limonene and linalool. I will investigate this since I’m baffled by this and suspect that this may be due to the mislabeling of croatian products, which wouldn’t be at all suprising. The other possible explanation would be that there are differences in the production of these two products, but that would perplex me even more since it’s suppose to be the same.

Further on, Lush is an earth – friendly cosmetic brand which works with organic substances and whoose policy is based on fair trade and an exclussive usage of vegetarian or vegan ingrediants. Some ingrediants are not natural but safe synthetic ingrediants and in this body butter such are laureth 4 and perfume.

Texture: this body butter’s exfoliation particles are quite big so some people with sensitive skin may find this too abrasive. YSTH is just enough rough and at the same time hydrating for me personally. I also like the fact that it’s viscosity is just enough to prevent any particle fallout while I’m doing my exfoliation routine plus the pumice and charcoal leave this amazing dark gray residue on my skin which makes the showering really fun for me (yes, I’m juvenile that way). 😀

Scent: Ooooh, I love the scent of this, much like with many other Lush products. It says that this smells like berry fruit. To be more precise, the most prominent smells are those of macademia nut, black current and bergamot. To me it smells like sweet childhood gums, like fruit and walnut cake – feminine and playful. It is also very longlasting.

Final effect: I must say that I’m really impressed with the way this stuff works on my skin – it is moisturized, soft and smells beatifully. That’s why I rate this 5/5.
